We are missionaries with YUGO Ministries out of National City, California. We are currently raising support to begin a construction ministry in Tijuana. We had the opportunity to lead a team from our church, mixed with some family, to
Tijuana in August 2008 to officially build our first home for a Mexican family. Last summer, we had an amazing opportunity
to spend about 10 weeks in Tijuana. Ron took a leave of absence from work and filled in as the head cook for the summer
outreaches on the Tijuana Outreach Center property. Kristy also worked in the kitchen and we both managed to squeeze in
some construction work while we were there. Ron led a ladies' soccer team as they built a structure across the street from
Grace Children's Home that will be used for a weekly Bible study to meet in. The structure is also located right next door
to Grace Babies' Home, which is currently being constructed. Kristy, Brittany and William had the opportunity to work with
YUGO staff and interns to replace some roofs on a couple of homes in the Rosarito/Tijuana area. This was a huge blessing
to us. Unfortunately, this was right after Ron's hernia surgery, so he was unable to help at that time.
We covet your prayers, as our house is still up for sale. Once the house sells, we plan to head to Tijuana for a minimum
of six months. God is awesome!! We know His timing is perfect!
Please contact us if your church, or other group, would like more information on building a house for a Mexican
pastor or family. The most common groups that build homes through YUGO Ministries consist of high school students,
but we also have college students, adults, and mixtures of all three that form teams to come down to Mexico and build.

YUGO Ministries offers so much in regards to short term missions. One of the best features is the locations in which YUGO
ministers. YUGO mainly works in the four border towns of Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada and Acuna. All are within two hours from
San Diego, California, except for Acuna, which is located about two hours west of San Antonio, Texas. This makes for a rather
inexpensive mission trip for those living in the United States and Canada. Several youth outreach weeks are offered throughout
the year. Many pastors and youth pastorsbring down their high school (or junior high) youth group for evangelistic and construction
mission trips. However, there are many other opportunities as well. Adults, entire families, retired couples and individuals
are all welcome to come and serve as well. Maybe you're retired and would like tohelp with the children at
Grace Children's Home or the new, upcoming infants' home. Maybe your handy and would like to do maintenance or
help with ongoing construction projects. If you are 17 years-old or older, you can join the Summer Staffing Team (SST).
It's a 10 week summer committment. The main responsibility of the SST is to run seven weeks of outreach in Tijuana.
There is also a new individuals week this summer. Please contact Linn Kong for more information on this week.
